The Art of Preparation

Concept

A chef’s dedication begins long before the dish arrives at the table. This work takes the same approach. Each plant split, woven, and shaped by hand, making the labor of care visible. Decoration as craft. Craft as hospitality.

Design Approach

Every element was worked by hand. Leaves split, folded, and woven into dense, tactile structures that run the length of the table. The design draws a quiet parallel between the chef’s preparation and the florist’s process: both invisible to the guest, both essential to the experience. For an audience of inbound visitors and VIP guests, we layered Japanese craft sensibility into the composition. Not as surface decoration, but as a language that speaks before words do.
