A Shower of Light

Concept

Not a chandelier made of crystal. One made of forest. The entire ceiling becomes the fixture — branches spreading horizontally, white garlands falling vertically, as if the room itself were offering a blessing from above.

クリスタルのシャンデリアではない。森でできたシャンデリア。 天井全体が照明になる。枝が水平に広がり、白いガーランドが垂直に流れ落ちる。部屋そのものが、上から祝福を降り注いでいるかのように。

Design Approach

The installation was designed around a single visual tension: the horizontal spread of natural branches against the vertical fall of white garlands. The branches follow their own logic — irregular, organic, reaching outward the way trees do. The garlands cut straight down through that irregularity, introducing order and rhythm into the wild. The contrast between the two movements — sprawl and fall, nature and intention — is what gives the space its energy. The overall form was conceived as a chandelier at the scale of the room: a single suspended composition that anchors the entire space beneath it, and makes everyone gathered below feel held inside something larger than themselves. A shower of celebration, made visible.

設計の起点は、一つの視覚的な緊張だった。自然な枝ぶりの水平の広がりと、白いガーランドの垂直の流れ。 枝はそれ自身の論理に従う。不規則で有機的で、木がそうするように外へと伸びる。ガーランドはその不規則さを垂直に貫き、秩序とリズムを持ち込む。広がりと流れ、自然と意図、その二つの動きのコントラストが空間にエネルギーを与える。 全体の形は、会場のスケールで設計されたシャンデリアとして構想した。空間全体をその下に錨づける、一つの吊り下げられた構成。そこに集まる全員が、自分より大きな何かの中に包まれていると感じる。祝福のシャワーを、目に見える形にした。
