Flowers Worn
Concept
Flowers placed in a room are beautiful. Flowers worn on a body are something else entirely. When a person moves, the flowers move with them. When light falls on skin and petal at once, a different kind of beauty appears — one that no arrangement in a vase could ever produce. In the wedding scene especially, this matters. The bride is not beside the flowers. She is the flowers.
Design Approach
This series explores the full range of ways flowers can inhabit the body — crown, hairpiece, bouquet, necklace, trailing garland down the back. Each piece is designed in relation to the person wearing it: the scale of their features, the line of their silhouette, the way they carry themselves. A flower worn is not an accessory added to an outfit. It is part of how the person is seen. The work spans a range of styles and contexts — from Japanese traditional to contemporary bridal — demonstrating that the principle of wearing flowers is not bound to a single aesthetic. What remains constant is the attention to how the flower and the body speak to each other.
